The mini-series coneys various influences affecting her future with this venture. The stakes become increasingly high for the Stein family when the son of Atika, Kasim, is kidnapped - shifting Steins association with the Middle East peace process.
Numerous close up shots of hands were effective in creating a variety of different emotions. For example tight, gripped hands conveyed anger as well as open, bare loose hands created a sense of loneliness, isolation and sorrow.
I am aiming to do this in my film trailer for the character of Aaron in the Custody scene. For example when Detective Gibbs tells him that he could be arrested for his sisters death, he slams his hands on the table in front of him in the Custody room conveying a sense of anger, frustration and annoyance. We will then take a close up of his hands.
Below is a photo collage made in PicMonkey of close up shots of hands in the fan video creating a variety of emotions. PicMonkey is a really useful tool as I can take screenshots from videos such as The Honourable Woman and photos I have taken and made them into a collage that is eye-catching, attractive in a unique format.
Character Profile on BBC Two website of Nessa Stein |
Below is the trailer for The Honourable Woman on BBC Two. I am intending on watching the series, catching up on episodes on BBC iPlayer; this will possibly give me ideas and inspiration I can use for my own film trailer.
I also discussed briefly the film trailers music and listened to the soundtrack of The Honourable Woman, as linked below. My group and I agreed that the soundtracks Middle Eastern, Asian influences such as heavy beating drums, heavy loud low pitched percussion instruments create a sense of suspense and jeopardy as they sound like a heart beat picking up pace creating fright and worry. The background Middle Eastern singing is also an indication of the trailers location and deep, dark, suspense driven atmosphere. I noticed similarities between this trailer and my own as we both focus on Middle East such as refugees travelling from Turkey to seek asylum in the UK. I will be taking this into consideration when exploring music options for my film trailer.
