PLANNING & RESEARCH: PRODUCTION COMPANY IDENT - BLACKLIGHT PRODUCTIONS

My group devised the name Blacklight Productions for our production company ident.

The intended format/presentation for our production company is Blacklight Productions projected onto a black circle on top of a white background. A suitable example of this is the photo above the Stone Root company logo. The ident will be animated with the production company title travelling onto the black circle from the right hand side of the ident and landing in the middle of the black circle. The black circle then travels off the page to the right hand side of the ident leaving the white coloured production company title to dissolve into obscurity due to the background being the same colour.

The use of two solid, opaque colours (black and white) will create a monochrome look that is slick, professional and attractive to potential audiences in turn attracting and addressing their attention. The white text on a black background will be clear for the audience to read and eye catching.

Our production company ident is similar to the Pixar ident; we gained inspiration as to how professionals make idents therefore allowing us to produce a sleek, professional production company ourselves.
